Budapest, October 8, 2025 – Hungary's largest creative industry event series was launched at the central venue of Budapest Design Week, the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, which showcases nearly 400 contemporary objects. Organizers from the capital and the countryside jointly opened Budapest Design Week with a press conference, which presents the diversity of Hungarian design and visual culture for the twenty-second time. The national program series, coordinated by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ), awaits interested parties with nearly two hundred events in ten cities between October 8 and 19. The design week simultaneously reflects on the traditions, strength and continuous renewal of the Hungarian creative industry, as the programs, which address all ages, include events from several decades ago as well as the latest initiatives.
Budapest Design Week is now the most important forum for the Hungarian creative industry, inviting both professional participants and the general public. The series of events, which is realized with the participation of more than a hundred participating organizations – including galleries, design workshops, educational institutions, chambers and cultural centers – aims to provide inspiring design content for everyone, regardless of age group and interest.
This year, the program structure will again encompass fine and applied arts, as well as the full spectrum of the design industry: more than 40 exhibitions presents the latest trends in contemporary object culture, industrial design and visual art, about 40 workshops helps to experience practical design thinking, close to 60 performances, installations and hybrid events explores the boundaries of art and design, and more than 20 professional roundtable discussions and thematic guided tour explores the social and economic role of design. In addition, the program is complemented by a number of shopping opportunities pop-up event, open studio, award ceremony, film screening, and personal designer meeting is enriched by a program offering.

It is a special pride that the festival offers programs that are authoritative not only domestically but also internationally. One of the greatest values of Budapest Design Week is that builds a bridge between tradition and innovation: several events have been part of cultural life for fifteen or twenty years, but Budapest Design Week always looks ahead. This year, several higher education and vocational education institutions – including the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts, the Budapest Metropolitan University, the University of Sopron and the Budapest Complex Vocational Training Center or, for example, KREA – graduating students also present their diploma exhibitions. This creates an opportunity for the youngest talents to show how they think about the future of design. These events prove the continuity and professional strength of the domestic industry. Every year, the festival is a joint celebration of creativity, where the profession, young creators and the general public can all experience that design is not just a form, but also a way of thinking, an experience and a community, and it also contributes to the performance of the national economy.".
This year, the event series will be implemented through a nationwide collaboration: in addition to Budapest, nine other cities – Debrecen, Pécs, Sopron, Győr, Kecskemét, Veszprém, Szentendre, Tata and Balatonfüred – will join the program series, presenting their own cultural values and design programs in the Local+ section. The events will both strengthen the presence of local creative communities and regional cooperation.

"Sopron Design Week is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, so it was especially important for us that during this year's series of events, designers living and creating in Sopron or connected to the city would show their objects and creations to the general public. The Pécs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized by DesignPécs and offers more than 40 programs to visitors. "The Pécs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing the DesignPécs event series for the 11th time. The initiative provides an opportunity for local creators, designers, creative industry professionals and all people and businesses related to art to present their activities.
