Keith Haring's Art and "Fast Fashion"

Keith Haring: a pioneering artist who combined activism and art, challenged social norms, and left an indelible mark on 20th-century culture with his innovative energy, unquenchable passion for pop culture, and political unrest.

Unfortunately, Haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1988. He used his fame as a successful artist to raise awareness of the epidemic through his work.

The Keith Haring Foundation – the organization responsible for the artist’s paintings since his death in 1990 – has partnered with a number of brands in recent years, including H&M, Primark, Bershka and others.
Haring was already involved in commercial product manufacturing, working with companies such as Absolut, Fiorucci, and Swatch. In 1986, he opened a low-priced Pop Shop in New York City, selling T-shirts, toys, and other items.

He established his foundation in 1989 to provide support to AIDS organizations and organizations working with disadvantaged children. The collaborations continue to generate income for these causes.

Since his death, Haring has been the subject of several international retrospective exhibitions. Keith Haring's work can now be seen in exhibitions and collections in major museums around the world.
