Budapest Fashion Week Day 2

Budapest Fashion Week 2nd act

The now long-standing Budapest Fashion Week has been held for the 27th time. This year, the City Park Ice Rink was once again the venue for the event. On the second day of the Budapest Fashion Week autumn/winter season presentation, we saw artisanal masterpieces, glitter, and chic.

The designers of the second day were: C 'EST MOI, THE NICHE, NAVONA, SUZANA PERIC

Navona

Rózsa Megla is the founder and designer of the brand, an ambassador of sustainable fashion. The brand is eco-conscious, and strives to subordinate its production and manufacturing processes to this, which is why the unique pieces are made in Hungary, from chemical-free, natural ingredients, with zero waste technology.

The pieces showed sophisticated tailoring. The collection represented more classic lines, with a more elegant line that could be worn absolutely every day. I really liked the patterned clay printed on a white background (shown in the picture). The leather gloves that appeared as accessories were beautiful, and were provided by a sponsor for the brand.

The Niche

This brand was the highlight of the evening for us. Apart from the fact that the pieces were all made of stretch material, we didn't see many concepts in the collection. They didn't show anything new in terms of tailoring or design. We could mostly identify what we saw as cool, youthful, mainly sportswear, but there were also party dresses made of easy-to-pack elastic material and 1-2 jackets. The sunglasses we received from the sponsor did a lot to make the pieces look "cooler".

It's Me

Magdolna Császár, a silk painter and industrial artist, is the designer of the C'est Moi Silk Art brand. Her collection consists of pieces hand-painted on real silk: casual dresses, kaftans, blouses, skirts, scarves, stoles. The base silk of the C'est Moi collection is white, on which the patterns and wonderful colors are made by hand, with a brush, and motifs inspired by nature - flowers, roses, poppies, winding lotuses, dragonflies. The colors and patterns brought to life the fresh currents of the awakening spring. This collection absolutely evoked the Middle Eastern atmosphere with the headdresses and the nature of the garments, but in terms of form, the traditional lines were more typical. Although the collection did not provide a new experience in terms of tailoring, the sophistication of the silk painting was enchanting.

Suzana Peric

Suzana Peric is an extremely creative, recognized, award-winning fashion designer of Serbian origin, with more than 20 years of professional experience. This time we saw the Glam Galaxy collection from her on the catwalk. Among the pieces were costumes, evening dresses and cool coats. The title of the collection was also absolutely indicative of the presentationbrought to life, as there was no shortage of glitter on the catwalk for sure, in terms of colors, there was a lot of gold and silver, with pearl and crystal decorations. The cut lines were good, we liked the bold and sometimes flashing leather combinations, but in our opinion, too much glitter was already bordering on kitsch. Obviously, the target audience of the brand largely determines what pieces are created within a brand, but the style absolutely reflected the Balkan or rather almost Russian taste world. The choice of presentation music was outstanding, it added a very strong dynamic emphasis to the collection.
